SPG Experience – Event In A Suite – Bucket List

So part of our Bucket List was to attend an event in a Suite. Thanks to SPG Moments¬†we were able to accomplish this and will do again in January. One of the redeemable moments (not an auction) was a Laker game in the SPG Suite at Staples Center. We’ve noticed that as games/events get closer, they will reduce the price from 25,000 to 15,000 or 10,000 points. We saw the event at 10,000 and booked.

According to the site:

This LA Lakers Basketball at STAPLES Center package includes:

  • Two (2) seats in the SPG Luxury Suite* for the Portland Trail Blazers vs. LA Lakers game at STAPLES Center on 23 December 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Complimentary food and beverages while in the suite
  • Access to Hyde Lounge**
  • A 20% discount to the TEAM LA store located adjacent to Star Plaza

Due to typical LA traffic, we arrived right after the introductions. We were greeted by the person in charge of that suite. She explained the options available for food, showed us the available seats and said that dessert would “arrive” in a little while. We sat down and caught up on the game. Then after a few minutes we got up to check out the food and drink selection. About half way through the 2nd quarter, the dessert “arrived.” Turns out it is a dessert trolley with a huge selection. We each chose one and headed back to our seats.

The restrooms were located very conveniently outside of our suite. We definitely enjoyed the view, our suite and amenities. As we were leaving, we noticed there were SPG Basketballs and Pucks. The Pucks represent when they host games for the Kings, which we’ll be enjoying in January.

While some enjoy using SPG points for hotels, (we did too for Disney World) we also like the experiences that would probably not be possible without SPG Moments. Can’t wait for more experiences in the future!
